About Thriving Inc.
“Complex Cities. Serious Leaders. Comprehensive Ministry.”
Thriving Inc. is an urban ministry resource organization founded by Dr. Eric Mason, pastor of Epiphany Fellowship Church in Philadelphia.
Thriving exists to equip urban missionaries for comprehensive global urban ministry through, for, and from the local church. The organization was formed to provide theological resources, leadership training, and community for pastors, church leaders, and believers serving in complex urban environments.
Unified Mission. Multiple Channels. Global Impact.
Through conferences, media, and leadership development initiatives, Thriving helps leaders engage cultural issues, build healthy churches, and advance the gospel in cities around the world. The organization was formed in 2012 as a nonprofit ministry dedicated to training leaders to serve faithfully in urban contexts.
Founder Dr. Eric Mason describes the vision of Thriving as a mission to equip leaders for faithful ministry in underserved communities.
Thriving seeks to connect with underserved communities by providing robust theological training rooted in Scripture. The ministry focuses on preparing God’s people for service in ways that are both biblically grounded and culturally contextualized.
The goal is to equip and support leaders dedicated to urban ministry so they can grow in:
- Character
- Competence
- Commitment
- Compatibility with the local church
Through events, media, and online resources, Thriving equips leaders to serve their cities well while developing future leaders who will continue building Christ’s kingdom.
Thriving exists to equip urban missionaries for comprehensive global urban ministry through, for, and from the local church. We are biblically based, theologically rich, historically rooted, Christ-centered, Spirit-guided, justice-oriented, missiologically driven, and tailored to the needs of people of color in our efforts to proclaim and practice the multifaceted wisdom of God for the underserved areas of cities and towns. For us, we want to promote the growth of scholarly practitioners for underserved urban environments by training leaders to have a robust love for Jesus and people!

The Frequency Conference is Thriving Inc.’s flagship event, gathering pastors, ministry leaders, church planters, and believers from across the nation for dynamic worship, biblical teaching, and leadership development. Designed specifically for urban ministry, the conference addresses the unique historical and contemporary challenges faced by leaders serving in underserved communities. Attendees gain practical tools, theological insight, and cultural understanding to help them serve their churches and communities more effectively.
Beyond teaching, the Frequency Conference provides a space for leaders to connect, build relationships, and find encouragement among peers who share a similar calling. Through keynote sessions, panel discussions, and workshops, participants leave equipped to lead with clarity, strengthen their ministry impact, and return to their communities with renewed vision and a deeper commitment to advancing the gospel.
